Syracuse City follows the recommended bail schedule set by the State of Utah.

Speeding Violations

11 to 15 miles per hour over$150
16 to 20 miles per hour over$200
21 to 25 miles per hour over$270
26 to 30 miles per hour over$370


Violations over 30 Miles Per Hour

Anything above 30 miles per hour over the speed limit requires a Court appearance and the person cited must schedule an appointment with the Judge. 

Violations in Construction Zones

Bail amounts on all the above are doubled if the violation occurs in a construction zone.

Other Moving Vehicle Violations

The amount is $120 for the following violations:

  • Disobeying traffic control
  • Failure to reduce speed
  • Failure to stop
  • Failure to yield
  • Improper lane change
  • Improper lookout
  • Negligent collision

If there was an accident, a $30 surcharge is added.

Other Types of Violations

  • For expired registration or no valid driver’s license, the bail amount is $50. This bail will be reduced to $40 with a copy of a valid registration or valid driver’s license.
  • Failure to wear is seatbelt is $60.
